Red Arrows 3D Stargazer motion theatre
The Stargazer is a fully proven system which Metropolis helped design and which has been installed at many locations around the world.
This attraction at the London Science Museum features three seven seat Stargazer 6 DOF hydraulic motion platforms creating the most dynamic motion possible. Most simulator motion systems for this type of theatre application feature only 3 DOF motion, whereas true flight simulators are predominantly 6 DOF motion.
It provides therefore the most accurate motion possible in representing the Red Arrows aircraft and Red Arrows pilot, Mike Ling, advised during the motion programming to ensure authenticity.
According to Mike it’s about as close as anyone will get to actually flying in the back seat of a Red Arrows Hawk jet without ever leaving the ground. "The motion cues are very precise and combined with the big screen 3D visuals create a sensational experience", he said.
